Blood of Champions
1924: a group of men, amateur soccer players, from various professions, embark on a journey towards the greatest adventure of their lives. They leave Uruguay for Europe to disembark in the Paris of the crazy years where, against all odds, Olympic glory and the astonishment of the whole world awaited them. This feat would be the first of others that would come in 1928 and 1930. In the context of the preparations for the celebration of the centenary of the Swearing in of the Constitution, the idea arose of organizing the first FIFA world championship in Montevideo and the construction of the Centenario Stadium in six months, the largest in the world at the time. Uruguay is crowned world champion and without intending to, this selection is constituted as the axis of the national identity of a country that was being born. Blood of Champions is the story of their history, and through them, that of an entire nation.
